Sue Sisley, MD

Dr. Sue Sisley, MD, is a Montana- and Arizona-based physician practicing internal medicine and psychiatry. Sue is the founder and Principal Investigator of the nonprofit Scottsdale Research Institute (SRI), where she leads myriad FDA-approved randomized controlled trials examining the safety and efficacy of LSD, synthetic psilocin, psilocybin mushrooms, and inhaled cannabis flower.

Sue holds 8 different DEA Schedule I licenses as a researcher and manufacturer. 5 years ago, SRI secured the only DEA Schedule I manufacturer license in the U.S. for cultivating whole cannabis flower and natural psilocybin mushrooms.

Her current cannabis research includes an FDA Phase 2b trial examining the safety and efficacy of inhaled cannabis flower in 320 military veterans with pain and PTSD.

SRI recently received the greenlight from the FDA to perform the first-ever controlled trial using intact, natural P. cubensis mushrooms, with groups of 8 participants dosed simultaneously. Phase 1 has been completed, and the Phase 2 mushroom trial design, which expands dosing groups to 12 participants, is now in front of the FDA.

With the first IND ever approved for whole, natural “magic” mushrooms, SRI is positioned to qualify for compassionate distribution of its investigational drug, Jedi Mind Fuck, to patients with life-threatening illnesses under the federal Right to Try law.

Sue also received IND 183727 for a Phase 1 ibogaine trial investigating its use in treating opioid use disorder in partnership with Mayo Clinic.
