The Texas Ibogaine Initiative (SB 2308) Passes the Texas Legislature

We’ve just made history in Texas.

The Texas Ibogaine Initiative, or SB 2308, has passed the Texas Legislature and is now on its way to the Governor’s desk.

This landmark legislation will create a path for groundbreaking research into ibogaine as a treatment for opioid use disorder, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and other conditions.

This is historic not only because Texas is the first state to support ibogaine research, but because the $50 million in state funding is the largest government appropriation for psychedelic research in U.S. history.

This bill reflects Texas’ leadership in mental health care and innovation, building on the first-ever state-funded psychedelic research trial established through HB 1802.
