Governor Abbott Signs the Texas Ibogaine Initiative Into Law

Today, we have something to celebrate.

The Texas Ibogaine Initiative, SB 2308, has officially been signed into law by Governor Abbott.

This is a major step forward for our veterans, first responders, and everyone affected by opioid use disorder, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and other conditions.

With this law, Texas becomes a global leader in psychedelic research and therapy.

Texas is now authorized to conduct clinical research into ibogaine, which has already shown incredible promise in treating the hidden wounds of war. This research will help us explore new, potentially life-changing treatment options for those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

This is historic not only because Texas is supporting ibogaine research, but because the $50 million in state funding is the largest government appropriation for psychedelic research in history.

This victory is thanks to the tireless work of so many advocates, legislators, and veterans who shared their stories.

But this is just the beginning. With this new law, we can now pursue groundbreaking research and advance new treatment options for those who need them. Texas is leading the way, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this effort.
